MT Haute Route
An Experience Like No Other
Be a part of something singularly spectacular: ski the only dedicated haute route in Montana. For a single, very small group of guests each season, this is an opportunity to traverse the entire length of the rugged Tobacco Root Range, skiing big lines along the way and using Bell Lake Yurt in the style of full-service European mountains huts. This is truly a trip of a lifetime.
Ski the entire skyline—with stellar ski descents along the way, including off the highpoint of the range.
BSBG’s exclusive itinerary allows guests to travel fast and light, carrying just daypacks--no heavy overnight gear—and relax in the comfort of Bell Lake Yurt. Strong skiers and riders will cover approximately 30 miles of wild mountain terrain (grizzlies, wolverine, and lynx call the Tobacco Roots home), top on out on 11 named summits, ski as many big lines as possible, soak in views of more than 13 surrounding named mountain ranges, and enjoy all of the comforts of yurt living! Learn more about Bell Lake Yurt and it’s amenities HERE.

The MT Haute Route is 4 days/3 nights, with a maximum group size of four traveling with two experienced guides.
Two additional guides will be providing outside logisitics on the first and last day: snowmobile shuttles, portering food and gear, and vehicle transport.
Learn more about our guides HERE.
IMPORTANT: This is a serious trip for fit, experienced backcountry travellers and expert skiers/riders only. Guests can expect strenuous days that climb up to 7,000 vertical feet and cover up to 15 miles in expert terrain, at altitudes up to 10,600 feet. This is one of the premier guided adventures in North America!
Dates: Late March-Early April 2026—call to book
In case of uncooperative weather/snowpack conditions (it’s not unusual for the TRoots to get dumps of 3-4 FEET at a time), we will default to a traditional approach to the yurt and explore our more remote, seldom-skied yurt terrain in adjacent basins.
-

We must have four people (or equivilant cost) to run the trip.
We only run this trip with a group of four friends/partners. We do not run this trip with mixed groups, due to the difficulty in matching and vetting different experience, fitness, and ability levels. This is for the safety and enjoyment of our guests and guides.
Due to the logistical complexity and staff-intensive nature of the trip, BSBG only offers one MT Haute Route trip per season. Call or email today!
Includes four days of guiding (2:1 guide ratio), three nights of yurt accommodations, all meals, gear and food portering, vehicle and snowmobile shuttles, and a LOT of amazing skiing and adventure!
